The Hyundai HY2000Si is one of the best mid-range leisure generators on the global market. With a continuous 2.0kW output, it is the ideal portable petrol leisure inverter generator for camping, motorhomes, caravans, boats, tents or anywhere you can think you might need clean reliable power.

This petrol generator's maximum output of 2200w or 2.2kw, so you'll have more than enough to power your microwave, a small heater or even a hair dryer. When the load is low, like for example, when you're powering a battery charger or lighting system, it has an ECO throttle system which steps in and lowers the engine revs to just above tick over, and this in turn significantly lowers the noise level and also helps with fuel consumption, and having a smart generator that is kind on both noise output and economy makes this the ideal machine for small, portable power.

At light load, it is possible to get as much as 9 hours of run time from one of these machines. Recently, the HY2000Si has had improved electronics, new bodywork like the rest of the inverter range and an vastly improved fuel system. How does this compare to a Honda EU20i?

The Honda EU20i is a favourite in the UK camping and caravanning scene, however the HY2000Si is more than comparable in almost every way. Although a few decibels louder, it has the same starting mechanism and is the same weight, but it has a larger fuel tank, runs for longer and is more powerful. And all this for a price that is around 40% lower than that of the Honda. Essentially, the HY2000Si is the best value leisure generator on the UK market by far.

How do I service the H21000Si inverter generators?

The oil needs to be changed after the first 20 hours, then every 100 hours, or every year, whichever is sooner. The spark plug should be changed every year. The air filter should be cleaned every 100 hours.

What else arrives with your Generator?

The HY2000Si comes complete with everything that you need to get started. Included with the generator is a litre of engine oil, caravan adapter lead, oil draining tube, spark plug, spark plug spanner, 12 volt battery charging lead, small bottle of fuel additive and an instruction manual.

What can't I do with the HY2000Si?

The HY2000Si one of the smallest inverter generator, intended for leisure use. It will not power: a microwave, kettle or conventional hair dryer. For these you would need the larger Hyundai inverter generator. It is not designed to power commercial equipment.

What is pure sine wave technology?

Inverters that have pure sine wave technology produce a cleaner smoother output similar to household electric mains, where other inverters produce square wave power that could possibly damage sensitive electronics such as laptops and mobiles. With sine wave technology you can rest assured that your products will power safely.

I'm curious about fuel consumption, how economical is this generator ?

The HY2000Si uses and eco throttle system, this means that fuel consumption is relatively low. For every 4.5 litres of fuel you can get on average 4-8 hours of continuous run time.

Are they easy to transport?

Yes at 28.00kg they are very light for a generator and with a handle cleverly incorporated into the compact design, carrying and storing this little blue box of power isn't an inconvenience. For even easier transportation a wheel kit is also available at a small extra cost.
