Welcome to the new blog from Genpower.
We specialise in petrol and diesel generators and are the UK distributor for Hyundai generators.
Our most popular products include: 5kw diesel generators, suitcase petrol generators, open frame petrol generators and petrol pressure washers.
One of the fastest moving pressure washers is the Diesel powered EPW3600. This is a very powerful pressure washer producing 3600psi maximum output at 18Litres a minute. With this sort of power, it makes light work of the toughest cleaning jobs. The advantages of a diesel pressure washer are good fuel economy, electric start, high performance, durablilty and portablilty, as it can be used in a location without electricity. On the downside, this is a heavy machine, weighing 100kg, compared to a petrol pressure washer, like the Evopower EPW3400, which weighs half this amount, yet still produces 3600psi.
On the generator sales front, we have seen a big demand for the Hyundai DHY6000SE, which is proving very a very popular standby generator for both home and business. In fact we have seen an increasing number of small business owners installing these generators as home standby generators and buisness standby generators, ensuring that any loss in their electricity supply makes no difference to the safety and confort of their family or the profitability of their business.
A typical basic home standby would consist of the Hyundai DHY6000SE, connected to the household electric cirvuits by a 100 amp manual changeover switch. In the event of a power failure, the generator is started and the changeover switch changed from mains to generator. The home electrics are now being powred by the generator. A 5kw generator produces enough electricity to keep most homes running as normal, for example it would power the lighting, fridge, freezer, central heating poiler and pump and TV etc.
When running your home from a standby generator, it is important to remember which electrical items are heavy uses of electricity. As a general rule, anything witha heating element uses a lot of electrical current. For example, a kettle is 2000 watts to 2500 watts, a small fan heater is 2000w and an electric shower can be between 8000 watts and 12000 watts! Please keep this in mind when specifying your generator.
