Warranty
We offer a 12 month (90 day commercial/business use) limited, parts/return to base warranty on all machines sold. This can be utilised in one of two ways:
1. Parts only- If a part fails, we will send you the new part. You will be responsible for fitting the new part and returning the old part to us by return. Failure to return the old part will invalidate the warranty.
2. Return to base- If your machine fails, you return it to us at your cost and we will either repair it or replace it and send it back to you. The arrangement and cost of the return carriage are your responsibility. Genpower Ltd will only assume responsibility for the goods when we have signed for the delivery of goods from your courier. Please ensure that the goods are insured to the correct value in case damage occurs enroute to ourselves. Genpower Ltd will pay for the cost of returning the machine to you, after repair/replacement (Highlands and Islands may incur a surcharge to cover the extra cost of carriage, please check before returning goods).
N.B. When returning machines, all fuel and oil must be drained before shipping. With petrol generators, it is essential that all the petrol is drained from the machine and the petrol tank and carburettor are completely dry, with no trace of petrol left. All oil must be drained from the engine. If the smell of petrol is present on the machine the courier may refuse to collect it, or retain it at their central hub, there may be a large additional fee to deliver the goods by courier if this happens.
Neither Genpower Ltd nor the manufacturer can be held liable for fair wear and tear or misuse of the goods. In all circumstances, Genpower Ltd will only be liable for the cost of parts. If the machine is found to be functioning correctly, you will be charged for the return carriage. All fuel related problems are not covered - you will be cgharged for machines returned as faulty and found to have dirty fuel or water in the fuel.Consequential loss will not be paid.
If your machine is over 12 months (90 day commercial/business use) old, we will still repair it, but there will be a charge for parts and labour, please ask our service department for advice on costs etc.
Diesel powered machines have a 1000-hour limit to the warranty and petrol powered machines have a 500 hour limit to the warranty. All machines must have been serviced at the recommended intervals and service records kept, stating hours, date and service work undertaken, to prove this.
N.B. Wear items and accessories carry a 90-day warranty. Water pumps and pressure washers -Hoses, Seals and valves have a 30-day warranty.
Batteries where applicable are not covered under warranty.
This warranty is non-transferrable and only applies to the original purchaser of the generator from Genpower Ltd. Original invoice must be produced. Consequential loss is not covered.
