This Evopower standby generator runs on white or red diesel and can be wired into your home to be switched on when there is a power failure, letting you go about your daily routine without disruption.
This machine has a fully enclosed acoustic bodywork, which enables it to meet the new rigorous EC noise certification.
As with all our generators it is also approved to all the necessary EC standards. This unit will run on as little as 0.75 litre of diesel an hour. This is by far the cheapest generator to run, especially when using ‘red’ diesel, which is almost a third the price of ‘derv’ or petrol which are of a similar price.
This diesel generator can be installed with a heavy-duty changeover switch, so in the event of a power cut, just switch the generator on and flick the changeover switch and your home will function as normal. **
This is a very substantial machine, weighing 175kg. It is powered by a 418cc 4-stroke OHV diesel engine, running on red or white diesel. Available power can be in either 110v or mains 230v and there is also a 12v DC supply for battery charging.

Typical home installation:

Generator to be positioned within 10m of house, preferable under cover, but well ventilated.

Neutral tapped to earth on extension lead (label socket that has been altered)

Wall mounted external plug on side of building hard wired to HD changeover switch in side building

In the event of a mains failure, ensure that all connections are in place, check oil and fuel levels in diesel generator, start generator, switch on the generator breaker switch, switch over changeover switch to generator.
The building will now be powered by the generator and completely independant of the National grid.

When using this generator, the maximum output is 5000 watts, typically this would let you have the lights on in 5 or 6 rooms, the fridge plugged in and the TV on and one larger appliance at a time, i.e. the washing machine or cooker. Care should be taken with this size of generator, as it could be become overloaded if several large appliances are used at once.
